1:9 Now, Lord God, may your promise ¹  to my father David be realized, ²  for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.

6:8 The Lord told my father David, ‘It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me. ³

21:1 Jehoshaphat passed away ⁴  and was buried with his ancestors ⁵  in the City of David. ⁶  His son Jehoram ⁷  replaced him as king.

33:25 The people of the land executed all who had conspired against King Amon, and they ⁸  made his son Josiah king in his place.
